Who We Are
AIC is a finance-focused undergraduate student organization at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business that educates members on alternative assets, financial markets, valuation fundamentals, and finance and accounting principles. Our members have diverse career ambitions within finance, and are well-prepared to assume a roles at prestigious financial institutions in investment banking, sales and trading, asset and wealth management, private equity, real estate, venture capital, hedge funds, and more. In joining, our members are immersed in an expansive network of successful current and former members who are willing to share their knowledge, resources, and career guidance.

WHAT WE DO
AIC's weekly meetings integrate action-based learning, member collaboration, educational resources, and career development guidance. Ultimately, this combination helps to best prepare our members for internship and full-time opportunities over the course of the year. AIC's weekly investment pitches and semester-long competitions allow members to learn in an engaging hands-on environment. In addition, our mentorship program, speaker series, resume review and interview preparation workshops, and social events, all offer members the opportunity to further their professional development.

Members develop the skills necessary to successfully pitch investments in a variety of sectors, incorporating both technical and fundamental analyses. Our student-led fund invests in equities, debt, and alternative asset classes including Real Estate, Soft Commodities, Foreign Exchange, Metals, and Energy.
Members actively learn valuation fundamentals in our semester-long commercial real estate and private equity LBO competitions. Working in small teams, members gain hands-on experience applying finance and accounting principles to value both properties and companies.
Members have access to an array of structured career development guidance including resume and cover letter reviews, private networking events, interview preparation, and a structured senior mentorship program. In addition, our speaker series provides critical insight to our members about potential career paths. Lastly, we host social events throughout the semester so members can learn more about each other and form bonds in a relaxed setting.
